Affiliate disclosure

The short version

Most of what is on this site, we buy, hold and ship ourselves. A handful of products are controlled by their brand and simply cannot be bought at wholesale by a shop our size — Apple’s AirTag is the obvious one.

We had two options: leave a hole in the kit, or tell you where to get it. We chose the second, and we label it every single time.

How you can tell

Affiliate items are marked Affiliate wherever they appear — in kits, in packing lists, and on their own page. They cannot be added to the cart, because we are not the ones selling them. The link opens the seller’s site, and it carries rel="sponsored nofollow" so search engines know it is a commercial link too.

What it changes about our advice

Nothing, and we will explain why you can believe that. An affiliate commission on a A$45 tracker is worth a couple of dollars. The margin on a product we actually stock is worth ten times that.

If we were optimising for revenue we would push you toward our own products, not away from them. The reason there is an affiliate link in a kit at all is that the kit is worse without the item.

If we ever link to Amazon

We do not currently. If we do, the link will carry the disclosure Amazon requires: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” We will never show a price or a star rating copied from Amazon, because those change constantly and a stale number is a misleading one.
