What we collect, and why

When you buy something

Your name, email, phone number and shipping address. We need them to take the payment and get the parcel to you, and we pass the address to the supplier who ships it.

We never see your card number. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their own checkout page. We receive a confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits, nothing more.

When you give us your email

Your email address and a tag recording which page you signed up from — for example a Bali packing list rather than a Japan itinerary. We use that tag so we can send you things relevant to your trip instead of everything we publish.

When you just visit

Anonymous, aggregated analytics: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device. No cross-site profile, and no selling of any of it.

Advertising cookies from Meta, TikTok and Google load only if you accept them in the banner. If you decline, they are never loaded — that is not a preference we record and ignore, the scripts genuinely do not run.

Who else processes your data

• Stripe — payments, and where the order record lives.
• Resend — sends order confirmations and the emails you asked for.
• Vercel — hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.
• Our suppliers — receive your name and shipping address, and only that, in order to send your parcel.
• Meta, TikTok and Google — only if you accepted advertising cookies.

Some of these store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. By using the site you consent to that transfer. Each of them is bound by their own contractual and legal obligations about how they handle it.

How long we keep it

Order records for seven years, because Australian tax law requires it. Email subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Analytics in aggregate indefinitely, because it is not tied to you.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it,
• stop emailing you — which the unsubscribe link in every email also does, in one click.

If something goes wrong

If we suffer a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we are required to notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, and we will.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first. If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
