Shipping and delivery
Real timeframes, at the pessimistic end. A delivery date we state is a promise we are legally bound to, so we would rather beat it than miss it.

What it costs
A$9.95 flat rate anywhere in Australia, and free on orders over A$99.00.
That is the whole shipping price list. It is shown on every product page and every kit page before you reach the cart, and it never changes at the last step. There is no handling fee, no packaging fee, and no card surcharge — payment costs are already in the price of the product.
Where we ship
Australia only, for now. We would rather ship to one country properly than five badly, and the customs and consumer-law position outside Australia is different enough that we are not going to pretend otherwise until we have done the work.
Digital itineraries obviously go anywhere, and need no address at all.
How long it takes
Physical products
Every physical product we sell ships from an overseas supplier. We hold no Australian stock, so there is no faster domestic lane sitting behind this page. Allow up to 25 business days from your order to your door, and read that as the window rather than the worst case.
The parts of it: dispatch takes up to 3 business days, then the parcel is in transit. Our supplier quotes six to ten days on the Australian lane for about half of parcels, which would put a typical order inside a fortnight. We do not state that as the window, because half of parcels is not a promise, and a stated delivery time is a promise here.
Regional WA, the NT and Tasmania run at the slow end of any window. Christmas and the weeks either side are slower than the rest of the year for everybody.
That is a genuinely long time and we are not going to dress it up as “fast shipping”. If you need something before a specific date, email us first and we will tell you honestly whether it will make it.
Those windows are counted in business days, and our supplier quotes its own transit estimates in calendar days. We have converted deliberately in your favour, so the window we state is wider than the one we are given.
Customs, duties and taxes on overseas items
The price you pay us is the whole price. It includes GST, it includes delivery, and we do not pass on customs charges to you.
The detail, because you should not have to take that on trust: items sent directly from our overseas supplier travel on a delivered-duty-unpaid basis, which means the carrier can in principle present a charge on arrival. Our supplier puts the inspection rate at under ten percent, and Australia does not collect duty or GST at the border on consignments under A$1,000 — which is every single item we sell. Between those two facts a charge is unlikely, but it is not impossible, and a local post office can add its own handling fee if a parcel is inspected.
If that happens to you, send us the receipt and we will refund it. We would rather absorb an occasional fee than quote you a price that turns out not to be the price.
Digital itineraries
Immediately, by email, usually inside a minute. If it has not arrived in ten, check your junk folder and then email us.
Tracking
You get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships. If you have not had one within three business days of ordering, something has gone wrong and we would like to know.
If it is late
Delivery timeframes we state are an express warranty under Australian Consumer Law, which means they are a promise rather than an estimate.
If your order passes the window above, email hello@cantlivewithouttravel.com with the order number. We will chase the carrier, and if it is genuinely lost we will resend it or refund you — your choice, not ours. See returns.
Wrong address
If you gave us the wrong address, tell us within a couple of hours and we can almost always catch it before dispatch. Once it has shipped we will help you chase it, but a redelivery may cost the postage again.
