Worth knowing

Claims limited to the Cochrane evidence: reduced symptomless DVT and reduced leg swelling on flights over five hours. Not a medical device and not a treatment for any diagnosed condition. Speak to your doctor if you have a clotting history.

Graduated compression socks in a knit that is bearable for a 24-hour trip. Sized properly, because a sock that is too tight is worse than no sock at all.

What the evidence actually supports. A Cochrane review of 12 randomised trials covering 2,918 people on flights of more than five hours found that compression stockings reduce symptomless DVT and reduce leg swelling.

That is the claim, and it is the whole claim. There is no good evidence that they prevent symptomatic clots, and we are not going to imply otherwise. If you have a clotting history, talk to your doctor rather than to a shop.
